The Indestructible Acoustic Guitar

Wednesday, August 15th, 2012

I bet it will still break into a million little pieces if you smash it on stage. Not that I ever want to but you get the picture. I’m thinking that’s how carbon fiber would break, shattered all over the place! Granted it may not be as easy as it sounds as carbon fibers are very strong yet very light material. It may take a couple of really HARD swings to break it!

Breaking away from traditional way of making guitars, a company called Composite Acoustics which is now partly owned by Peavey builds guitars without using any wood at all. All the wood traditionally used to make guitars have been substituted with carbon fibers.

The result is an almost “Indestructible Guitar”. They in fact fondly called it “The Forever Guitar”. It is a fact that the most common problem which every guitar encounter is due to (more…)

Marshall Fridge

It’s the third week into Ramadhan. A hot Ramdhan this year! Actually as far as I can remember, it has always been hot during Ramadhan in Malaysia. R.I.P Paul Ponnudorai

Saturday, July 7th, 2012

My sincere condolence to the Ponnudorai family. He has always been one of my idols. There aren’t many that reached his level of playing.

Paul Ponnudorai

A flexible guitarist that has a whole bag of magical licks to cover a wide variety of music genre from the blues, bluegrass, country, jazz and pure rock. A master player in my eyes. In fact TIME magazine once wrote that he may have been “quite possibly the greatest musical interpreter of our time”.

Rest in peace bro, your musical prowess lives on! Once again my condolence to the family and my humble SALUTES to the other “Master” Ponnudorai bros. Yup they are as lethal on the guitar!
