What can I say, Ramadhan does tend to make me wonder about all the suffering that’s happening everywhere in the world. Religion has always been a scapegoat for bad people doing bad stuffs. I have always subscribed to the wise words of the ages and among the one’s that I hold on dearly to are the wise words of the Prophet Muhammad:~

“There is in the body a lump of flesh – if it becomes good, the whole body becomes good and if it becomes bad, the whole body becomes bad. And indeed it is the heart.”

In a nutshell, if you’re a good person, than you’re good person and if you’re a bad person than that’s your prerogative too. It is not exclusive to only “Muslims”. It is applicable to everyone. Islam dissolves race, skin color and any form of clan-ship. This, the Prophet reminded us in his last sermon:

“An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab; white has no superiority over black, nor does a black have any superiority over white; [none have superiority over another] except by piety and good action.”

Again this reminder is not exclusive to only Muslims. And the reality is that more often than not, Islam has been given a bad reputation by Muslims themselves. Misguided and narrow minded people tend to go to the extreme end of things and society thus label them “religious extremist”. Added to the confusion would usually be ancient conflicting traditions, cultures and believes that has nothing to do with the religion itself to begin with.

But we all know that everything changes and nothings stays the same, so the way I see it is those that society label as “religious extremist” are slowly fading away as we progress into the future. This song has always manage to soothe me whenever I hear about people doing stupid and evil things in the name of Islam. Islam is a religion of intellect, peace and progressive. Morons claim it exclusively theirs! I’ve said enough already and I am complete. Enjoy the song and happy MM guys .
