Salams.
I was actually thinking of writing something else today when I noticed a friend posted a couple of interesting pictures on his FB. It’s a picture of a traditional weapon  maker. He makes Keris, Machete’s and even Katanas (Samurai Sword).

Traditional Malay Weapons

I have always loved weapons of sort. I’m not an expert on weapons nor am I an avid collector, not yet hehe. And maybe that’s about to change too. As it turns out to be, this weapon maker actually does his thing very near to where I live. One of these days I’ll have to make some time to go and check him out.  In the meantime, I’d like to share one of  the favorite weapons that I have.

This machete is handed down to me by my father.  It is approximately 45cm in length and 4cm wide. I can’t really say as to why I like this one. There are others which are more refined in it’s finishing. This one is not so. But it has this certain feel when I hold it that makes it feel just right. Maybe it’s the weight and the length or maybe it’s the first one that my father gave me. Whichever it is, it just feels really good to swing it haha. It is supposed to be approximately 350 years old. I may be the 7th or 8th generation to  own it. An antique indeed and as far as an antique goes, this one is in great shape.
